Abandoned migrants rescued by BP agents; one found in well

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) – Border Patrol agents rescued several illegal immigrants in the last week, due to abandonment by smugglers in the desert on the Tohono O’odham Reservation.

On March 23, BORSTAR agents rescued a woman and two boys from the desert.  The trio was found near Covered Wells, AZ.  According to the release the family had been abandoned by their smuggler three days prior.

Agents were called in after receiving a 9-1-1 call, to search – requiring a coordinated air and ground search.  The trio was located and taken to a local hospital for treatment of dehydration.
