FROM: http://www.breitbart.com/ The next Speaker of the House should push for the immigration concerns of the American people, according to Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL).
Sessions, a top opponent of amnesty and unfettered immigration, told Mobile, AL’s WKRG News that House Speaker Rep. John Boehner (R-OH) largely disregarded the people’s calls for a more hawkish approach to immigration.“I think the Speaker has ignored far too much the will of the American people on immigration,” Sessions said.
According to the Alabama lawmaker, the next Speaker should be focused on pressing for Republican principles.
“I’d like the Speaker to be engaged in presenting the moral and legal case for many of the ideas that we Republicans believe in,” he said.
High on that list for Sessions is ending illegal immigration and prioritizing American jobs over cheap foreign labor.
“We’re going to end illegal immigration. We’re going to protect American jobs and wages and we’re not going to apologize about it,” Sessions said.
While he had tough talk for Boehner on his immigration efforts, Sessions did praise the outgoing Speaker as “a good person” with a “a difficult, difficult job”
