Boehner’s border fix dies as phones melt

WASHINGTON – As a source predicted to WND, the House has failed to pass a bill GOP leaders had touted as a fix to the border crisis.

House leaders could not attract enough of their own rank and file Republicans to vote for the bill, because they were not convinced it was a strong enough measure and they feared it had too many dangerous loopholes.

And, many of those Republican lawmakers were apparently convinced by voters to discard the bill, with numerous reports of angry constituents “melting the phone lines” to call in their disapproval of the bill.

That’s exactly what opponents of the bill, such as Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., had asked voters to do.
