Mark Kelly, Arizona Senate candidate, slams Trump’s national border emergency declaration

Mark Kelly, the naval aviator and retired astronaut who launched his 2020 bid for the U.S. Senate seat this week, slammed President Donald Trump’s national emergency declaration.

Kelly, a Tucson resident, is running as a Democrat with the hopes of unseating Republican Sen. Martha McSally, the nation’s first female Air Force combat pilot. McSally lost her 2018 Senate race but was appointed to the seat once occupied by the late Sen. John McCain, the veteran Arizona Republican who died Aug. 25.
